Sometimes the most helpful thing isn’t talking, analysing, or fixing — it’s allowing the nervous system to settle.
Reiki is a gentle, calming practice that helps the body shift out of stress and into a more regulated, balanced state. Many people describe it as deeply relaxing, grounding, and restorative — especially when they’ve been carrying tension for a long time.
At Northern Lights Coaching, Reiki is offered as a supportive practice, either on its own or alongside coaching, depending on what you need.
Reiki is a non-invasive, hands-on (or hands-near) relaxation technique.
It works by encouraging the body’s natural ability to settle, rest, and rebalance — similar to what happens when you finally switch off after a long period of pressure.
Reiki is not:
a medical treatment
a replacement for healthcare or therapy
about diagnosing or “fixing” you
It is:
calming
gentle
client-led
respectful of your boundaries and comfort
You remain fully aware and in control throughout.
Sessions are quiet, unhurried, and focused on comfort and safety.
People often report:
a sense of warmth or heaviness
slower breathing
a feeling of settling or “coming back into themselves”
deep relaxation, sometimes drifting close to sleep
There’s no pressure to talk, share, or process anything unless you want to.
You don’t need to believe in Reiki for it to be useful — many people simply experience it as structured, intentional rest.
Reiki can be helpful if you’re:
feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or burnt out
stuck in a constant “on” or alert state
emotionally tired but not sure why
struggling to switch off or fully relax
supporting yourself through change, recovery, or transition
Some people choose Reiki on its own.
Others find it particularly helpful alongside coaching, as it helps the body settle so the mind can work more clearly.
Coaching works best when the nervous system is regulated.
Sometimes people know exactly what they want to change — but their system is too tense, guarded, or overloaded to access it easily.
Reiki can:
support emotional regulation
help reduce internal noise
create space for reflection
make coaching sessions feel less effortful
There’s no expectation to combine the two. It’s always your choice.
Sessions are gentle, confidential, and client-led
You can stop, pause, or change position at any time
Sessions take place in a calm, quiet setting
Reiki is offered as a relaxation and wellbeing practice
